A story about passion between an American nurse and a German classical music compositor…

Markus Sch?nberg, a German classical music compositor, emigrated to Napa Valley because of the Second World War. In 1943, he met Gisele, a nurse from a wine making family, and fell in love with her and winemaking. After learning enology and viticulture from Gisele’s father, Markus came back to Germany with his wife in 1956 and created his own vineyard in a small village of Rheinhessen called Bermensheim. Winemaking is a symphony where all the elements (vineyards, grapes, cellar, instruments…) must come together in time and play their own part perfectly under the direction of the winemaker. This is a work of craftsmanship, artistry and passion!
